  • Barony Course at Port Royal Golf Club
    Port Royal Plantation
    10 Clubhouse Dr. 800.2.FIND.18
    www.hiltonheadgolf.net
1963, George W. Cobb designed the 18 holes that make Barony golf course at Port Royal Golf Club. Playing to just 5,964 yards from the regular tees, Barony is rewarding for golfers of all skill levels. Generous fairways and a risk-reward approach to the greens are two features on the par-72 Cobb designed course. From the tee, many of the holes on Barony appear to be relatively open. However, the real challenge becomes apparent as you approach the small greens that are protected by deep bunkers, surrounded by Bermuda rough, and demanding a skillful touch with the medium and short irons. The key to this course is accuracy and not length. The back nine is a fine mix of long and short holes and is well known for its scenic beauty.

  • Robber's Row at Port Royal Golf Club
    Port Royal Plantation

    10 Clubhouse Dr. 800.2.FIND.18 http://www.hiltonheadgolf.net/
Re-designed by world-famous architect Pete Dye in 1994, Robber's Row is cut through beautiful stands of magnolias and live oaks. This 6,657-yard par-72 course is an excellent course for intermediate golfers and is highlighted by a challenging quartet of excellent par-3 holes. Those looking for a real challenge can move to the back tees and find a very fair, but stern test of golf. The fairways dogleg from left to right, and water hazards come into play on several holes. The real test on this course are its medium-sized, extremely undulating greens. Although tee-shot landing areas are quite generous, approach shots require accuracy to the well-bunkered greens. Robber's Row is set atop former Civil War grounds on the marsh side of the plantation and features historical markers on several holes describing events relevant to the area.

    http://www.hiltonheadgolf.net/
Planter's Row, also part of Port Royal Golf Club's 54-holes of legendary golf, served as the site of the Champions Tour Hilton Head Seniors International in 1985. Willard Byrd's 18 holes offer a different look than its sister courses, presenting rolling, tree-lined fairways in a park-like setting. Golfers need to stay focused as water comes into play on several holes. The course's large and undulating greens require a skilled touch with the putter. keeping the ball in play on this par-72, 6,625-yard course is essential to good scoring. An excellent example of this is the 480-yard, par-5 18th hole. The second shot must find a narrow landing area flanked by woods to the left and water to the right setting up a short pitch to an elevated well-bunkered green.

    http://www.hiltonheadgolf.net/
With Carolina pine trees, flowering magnolias and moss-draped oaks as its back drop, Shipyard Golf Club's 27-holes offer some of the most spectacular golf imaginable. Two of the three inter-connecting nines are combined for a unique and challenging 18-hole round. The original Clipper and Galleon courses create an exciting combination of long fairways and perilous hazards, while the Brigantine course winds its way around lagoons and breathtaking terrain. The former home of the Hilton Head Seniors International from 1982 to 1984, Shipyard Golf Club was rated one of the finest layouts on the Champions TOUR. Accurate tee shots and well-measured approaches are a must on this championship course. The greens are large and well bunkered, and their undulation surfaces demand a delicate, yet determined touch.

Oyster Reef Golf Club opened in 1982 and was immediately recognized as one of the top 25 new courses in America. This Rees Jones-design has been voted one of the top 20 courses in the Carolinas and enjoys a reputation as a favorite among Hilton Head Island golfers. This 18-hole championship course offers 66 bunkers, which are well placed off the elevated tees and guard undulating 2 and 3-tiered greens. Numerous dogleg fairways, accented by strategically located mounds and fairway bunkers, call for well-planned tee shots. The greens vary in size and their well-defined tiers place a premium on precise approach shots. Hole #6, a par-3, has been recognized by many as one of the most spectacular holes on Hilton Head and has been pictured on the cover of numerous golf magazines.

    Palmetto Hall Plantation Club

    (800) 2.FIND.18
    http://www.hiltonheadgolf.net/
Along with its sister course, designed by Arthur Hills, the Robert Cupp Course at Palmetto Hall is the latest addition to The Heritage Collection of courses on Hilton Head Island, immersed in Southern elegance and natural beauty, and a must-play for every golfer. This course has always redefined conventional golf course architecture, thanks to the boldly original concept of its designer, former GolfWorld Architect of the Year Robert Cupp. He plotted the course's original design on computer, with the finished product characterized by straight lines, sharp angles and unusual shapes. That design was restored in 2005 when the greens were renovated on this Golf Digest 4-Star classic. Still, the Cupp Course is extremely flexible with sound strategic values. A strong challenge from the tips, it is eminently playable from the forward tees. A truly unique experience, the Cupp course is, from a player's standpoint, refreshingly new and great fun to play for all skill levels.

Along with its sister course, designed by Robert Cupp, the Arthur Hills Course at Palmetto Hall is the latest addition to The Heritage Collection of courses on Hilton Head Island, immersed in Southern Elegance and natural beauty, and a must-play for every golfer. The Arthur Hills Course showcases Hills' trademark undulating fairways, gracefully flowing across the naturally rolling contours of the Lowcountry, winding through deep thickets of moss-draped oaks and towering pines, with protected greens- many edged with bunkers- and strategic water hazards. 20,000 square-feet were added to the putting surfaces in a 2005 renovation of this Golf Digest 4-1/2-Star gem, restoring the large greens to Hills' original design. Most memorable is the large lake bordering the difficult dogleg-left finishing hole, a fabulous par-4. Four different tee positions comfortably accommodate any golfer and offer four distinct, yet always challenging, golfing experiences.

Having appeared on Golf Digest's list of America's 100 best, the par-70 George Fazio Course offers a stimulating challenge to golfers. With only two par-5s, the heart of the course lies in a series of long par-4s, beginning with the 432-yard first hole and ending with the 462-yard 18th. The fairways are open and roll gently on the front nine, while the back nine becomes tighter and more sever, demanding good position off the tee. The Fazio is an exhilarating layout, long regarded as the island's truest championship challenge. The course is a certified "Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary," only the fourth in South Carolina & 187th in the world to achieve this designation. No matter how many times you've played the Ocean Course, your next round will be a new experience. The varying sets of tees and the placement of hazards ensure the course is challenging but playable for golfers of every skill level. Harbour Town Golf Links
The Sea Pines Resort

(843) 842-8484 (800) 732-7463
http://www.seapines.com/
Home of the prestigious PGA TOUR event, The Verizon Heritage each April, Harbour Town is perennially ranked among the top golf courses in the world. Good scoring depends on finesse and shot-making rather than strength. Well-placed tee shots and approaches are requisites for good scoring, and the well-protected greens are among the smallest of any tournament course in the country. Harbour Town's set of par-3s ranks among the finest in the world, and its par-4 18th hole is one of the most feared in all of golf, particularly when the wind is blowing off Calibogue Sound. One of Pete Dye's crowning achievements as a golf course designer, Harbour Town is an innovative masterpiece and a favorite among PGA TOUR pros. Dye returned to oversee a complete restoration of Harbour Town Golf Links in 2000.

This Nicklaus-designed course is well known for its Lowcountry beauty and its wide variety of shot-making requirements. The Golden Bear is the only course on the island to offer a state-of-the-art ParView GPS Electronic Caddy system on every cart. With many technological features, this system aids the golfer with full color features, such as overviews of each hole, pro tips on how to best play the hole, current pin placement, live scoring for groups and more!

Daufuskie Island Resort and breathe Spa's two fabulous 18 hole championship courses, Bloody Point and the Melrose Course are accessible only by boat from Hilton Head, making them all the more worth the trip. The Melrose Course is a Jack Nicklaus Signature course offering challenging play and stunning views of the Lowcountry. The front nine sweeps into the heart of the island through lush woods, moss-laden oaks, black lagoons and salt marshes. The final three holes of the back nine run along the Atlantic Ocean, with an 18th hole that seems to plunge into the sea.
Bloody Point was brought to life by the talents of Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish, and is every bit as challenging as its name. The layout is open and panoramic. your shot-making ability will be tested, especially when the wind blows in off the Atlantic Ocean or the Mungen River. For tee times and special overnight golf packages, please call our reservations office at 800-648-6778.
